Representative Cases


Guy A. Fortney came to the firm after graduation from law school in 1996. His practice focuses on medical malpractice, civil rights and document intensive civil and criminal litigation in both state and federal court. Guy has been instrumental in developing cases that have settled for several million dollars ranging from medical malpractice and personal injury to toxic torts. He is rated BV by Martindale-Hubbell. In 2001, he secured a judgment in excess of $7,000,000.00 after three weeks of trial in a divorce case. In 2005, he was part of the trial team that received a verdict for $15,600,000 in an insurance bad faith case. 

Guy Fortney graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science. In 1996, he graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law with Juris Doctorate where he was a member of the Order of Barristers and Phi Delta Phi and the recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Law, Medicine & Ethics and the Jerry M. Melone Award in Law and Medicine. During law school he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Baculus in 1995-96 and Managing Editor in 1994-95. Additionally, Guy was the Student Speaker at University of Tulsa College of Law graduation ceremonies. He is a member of the Tulsa County Bar Association, the Oklahoma and American Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association.

Guy is admitted to practice before the Oklahoma Bar, United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Oklahoma. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
