Alcohol-Related Crashes

In 2020 there were 2,975 total alcohol-involved crashes. Drivers in alcohol-related crashes were two to three times more likely to be male than female and between the ages of 20 and 39.

Drivers aged 15 to 29 accounted for 34.11% of all crashes, with the following age breakdowns:

  • 15-19-year-olds accounted for 10.13% of all crashes.
  • 20-24-year-olds accounted for 12.95% of all crashes.
  • 25-29-year-olds accounted for 11.03% of all crashes.

It is important to note that despite the above statistics, the following age groups were responsible for the most fatal crashes:

  • 20-24-year-olds accounted for 12.11% of all fatal crashes.
  • 25-29-year-olds accounted for 10.50% of all crashes.
  • 35-39-year-olds accounted for 10.29% of all fatal crashes.

The most fatal crashes occurred during the following time periods:
