A 10-month old boy underwent aortic valvuloplasty by a cardiologist for treatment of mild aortic stenosis. During the procedure, the doctor perforated the baby’s left ventricle and failed to recognize the perforation for 28 minutes. The baby suffered a substantial and irreversible brain injury.
