On May 14, 2026, Oklahoma County District Judge Natalie Mai granted Richard Glossip a $500,000 bond and ordered his release from the Oklahoma County jail. The decision came more than a year after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Glossip’s conviction and death sentence, citing false testimony and prosecutorial misconduct. See Glossip v. Richard Glossip has maintained his innocence through 29 years of incarceration. He faced nine execution dates and three last meals during that time. He will continue to defend against this charge as prosecutors have elected to retry the case.
